SHIPPING POLICIES AND METHODS - LIVE PLANTS

We are not able to ship plants, with the exception of flasks, outside of the USA at this time. We generally work to get orders shipped within 7 business days. We are a two-person team, but this is not our only job. If there is any cause for delay, or we need to discuss shipment for any reason- we will contact you via email, or rarely, by phone, if you provide us with a number. We will do our absolute best to accommodate your needs. Don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions or concerns. If you need us to hold plants until a certain date, let us know! We are usually able to do so.

The options for shipping that you will have available to you will depend on what you order. The most restrictive item will be flasks of orchid seedlings. If you wish to purchase flasks, we require overnight or two-day shipping (those should be the only two options that show in this case). This is the industry standard for flasks. It minimizes the time the babies are in transit and any exposure to conditions that may be unfavorable. Flasks are a collection investment- the added layer of safety that comes from expedited shipping is worth every penny!

Some individual orchids may also require expedited shipping. It varies by genus/species and will be determined on a case by case basis. The well-being of our plants is important to us. We reserve the right to use our judgment to ensure safe and timely arrival. You as a buyer are of course free to select faster shipping for any order.

Something to note about live plants and shipping: A change in growing conditions and the temporary stress caused by shipping can, and often does, make plants do weird stuff. Some plants will have an adjustment period. Some will act like nothing ever happened. Some will drop some leaves, blast their buds (super common), shed and regrow roots, or find other ways to just generally be drama queens. Don’t panic! It’s annoying and can stress new growers out, but if you have patience and give them the conditions they need to thrive, they will soon straighten out and reward you with wonderful new growth. Plants grow their foliage and roots according to the conditions present when that tissue is forming. If there is a change in growing conditions, The oldest leaves may no longer be “optimized” for their job, and the plant will opt to reabsorb some of the resources from that leaf before dropping it, and put this energy toward new growth. Think of it as a little hardware update!

FLASK EXPORT POLICIES

Flask orders for export require a minimum purchase of $500 USD exclusive of document fees, tax, and shipping. Overseas buyers accept full responsibility for any taxes and duties assessed by their country's import officials. Buyers are responsible for providing any necessary import permits or other documentation from their country's regulatory agencies. We are not responsible for delays or customs issues after the flasks leave the USA and cannot refund or replace products lost or destroyed in transit or by import agencies.

WEATHER POLICY

Sometimes, the weather is not on our side. In the event of weather that is dangerously cold, dangerously hot, or if storms of any kind are threatening to interrupt service/delivery, we will contact you and let you know that we think it would be best to withhold shipment until the threat has passed. We reserve the right to do this. If a customer insists on shipping during a dangerous period of time, we will either need to waive the guarantee or cancel and refund the order.
