Collection: Mounted Orchids

Most cultivated orchids grow as epiphytes in nature, attached to the trunks and limbs of trees in the forest canopy. Mounted orchids are grown attached to pieces of bark, wood, tree fern, or similar materials that mimic their natural habitat. Mounts are ideal for plants that need strong airflow through their roots and a defined wet/dry cycle.

Mounted orchids generally need good humidity and frequent watering. Growing on a mount allows your plants and flowers to display themselves in a more natural manner, especially those with pendulous foliage and flowers or long creeping rhizomes like many Bulbophyllum.
