Mymecophila (Schomburgkia) tibicinis is a popular, easy grower that readily form impressive specimens at maturity. Myrmecophila means ant-loving, and in their native range the hollow pseudobulbs host ant colonies which help to protect and feed the plant. Thankfully they do not need their ants in cultivation, a good orchid fertilizer is a perfectly fine substitute.
Grow these warm and bright, potted, mounted, or in baskets. If you're in a frost-free area like south Florida or southern California they will also do well mounted to a tree.
Seedlings in 2.5" pots.
